Half the heavy in the world is gone
Man, I lost track of him but can’t forget the heavy. “Dimebag” Darrell, former guitarist for Pantera which I may have mentioned before, was shot and killed during a performance yesterday. You may not like the style of music they produce, but no one can say that Darrell didn’t have talent. Thanks for the riffs.
Headbangers Update
Because I love you people so dearly, I’ve compiled samples of the ones I mentioned. So, prepare for the pain! Nickelback Because Of YouPantera WalkSevendust Rumble FishKorn Bottled Up And you can download the tune that i mentioned by Quid Pro Quo here. And because Metallica feasts on the scrotums of those who dare [...]
Headbangers Unite!
This post sprang forth from a single song that damned near tore my head off last night when I accidentally turned on my radio. Being a lapsed guitarist, I simply adore a heavy riff. Therefore, I’m asking for the heaviest riffs you can think up. Here’s my current list as of last night. [...]
Biding my time for Wierd Al
I still do the Rhapsody thing at work as I’ve mentioned, frankly, a little too many times… when will these corporate schloobs realize I need compensation for this unbridled enthusiasm?! That was an aside. Recently I’ve taken to listening to what they term a “Radio Station”. Let me explain how this particular mode works: I [...]
Gosh, what a monumental screw up!
Hahahaha!!! Those dunces at Apple!!1 Look at this (Note: this isn’t a link to the original article at Apple Turns because they don’t have a permanant link to their own damned article. Instead it’s currently only available at “yesterday/#1″. Wise hierarchy that, eh?): Yesterday we mentioned in passing that faithful viewer djsteve had purchased a track [...]
Snarling rictus of pain
I remember when I first joined my one band way back in 1994, the drummer asked me an interesting question: are you a lover or a fighter? Yeah, sounds like a K-Y gang, I know. What he meant was, when I was in the middle of a solo, did I make faces like I was [...]
There is a Hell for musicians
Some things seem impossible. Levitation. Telepathy. Local number portability. There was one thing I assumed was impossible before this afternoon: crafting a more abhorrent version of Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors. Enter our office restroom, and the dire strains of a Muzak version of the song. True, this version did successfully remove Lauper’s annoying nasal rasp, [...]
Hold Me
My coworker just played Metallica’s Enter Sandman as recorded by Pat Fucking Boone. It should be noted that said coworker did this for a hoot and not because he feels it is the height of musical achievement. Of course Rhapsody would have the whole damned album available, with such bewildering selections as Panama, Holy Diver [...]
