It’s Halo 3 beta day, and everyone’s smacking ass and taking names. Well, everyone except those who bought Crackdown to get into the beta. Those people are currently SOL and whining about it in droves. I’m one of those people, actually, though this is the only place I’m whining. I bought Crackdown because I heard it was a blast and I’ve certainly gotten my money’s worth out of it… but it didn’t necessarily hurt that it got me into the beta.
It’s moderately amusing. Here’s the only people involved that paid money to get into the beta and they’ll be the last ones to get in. The Rule of 3 people and the swinging dick VIPs got their downloads last night and are under way. Does anyone really think that this is an accidental glitch? They know the number of Crackdown copies they sold. They’re sitting by the switch looking at the number of simultaneous downloads and withholding the Crackdown release until they clear most of the other beta people. You can almost bet on it. Otherwise, no one would be playing now as the download servers would be swamped with the X.Y million people that own Crackdown trying to grab it.
Hear that noise? It’s a goatscrew being drowned out by the clamouring mob. How delightful.
Halo 3? I loved Halo 2. Jay and his family came over a couple of Thanksgivings ago and we played Halo 2 all weekend. Good time.
