Oscar night was such a joy as I got to try and fail miserably — repeatedly — with a concept I had for an element for the new design I’m trying to create here. With all of that heartache it’s amazing that anything useful got done, but I think I’ve gotten a few meager steps closer to my goal. So, due to overwhelming demand for a view of the redesign work-in-progress, here’s a snippet to whet the old appetite.

Yes, that’s all you get you money-grubbing hell-hounds! I still have a ways to go as I’ve really only painted with a broad brush so far, primarily exploring colors and mulling content presentation ideas over in my head. I have yet to decide on such important items as what the sidebar will look like, what will be presented in the sidebar, how the stuff will be presented in the sidebar, how many posts I’ll be displaying (I’m seriously toying with the idea of a very small home presence on the order of an excerpt of the latest post) and how they’ll be displayed. Along with this I have some vague concepts of things I’d like to do to change things up, some wilder (some new usage of XMLHttpRequest to enhance some things) and some tamer (novel — for me — usage of :hover pseudo-selectors to access some meta-content and extra information). If only I had infinite time!
See? Green.

Keep plugging, you’ll get there!
