Congratulations to the NHL for earning the distinction of being the only major professional sport in North America to cancel an entire season over a labor dispute. Way to gain the mind share of the public you’re trying to cater to. A public who, for those of you not paying too much attention, weren’t overly interested to begin with. This is surely a way to get the old attendance up.
Shame on all of you. No one is innocent. You’re all equally greedy and ridiculous: owners for the spending sprees that put salaries where they are in the first place and players for not seeing the obvious, that a league that almost nobody cares about and that hemorrhages money annually is not viable.
Shame on you.

Were I in a more jovial mood, I might attempt to make some crack about Electronic Arts getting a license so exclusive, it not only prevents other game companies from making NHL games, it prevents the NHL from making NHL games…
But, alas, this is just too sad. I think some former Blackhawks (not that I care, mind you) are coming to play for the Chicago Wolves in the pseudo-pro league, and I assume most of my vowel-challenged Red Wings will end up playing in Europe.

I can’t begin to explain the disappointment of possibly never seeing Steve Yzerman play another hockey game.
This is completely appalling. The disgust makes my skin crawl.
NHL – WOO HOO!
Yay, hockey, hockey, hockey, we love you! I am thrilled to know that the NHL is set to begin again in October NHL.com. I admit I was worried for a while that they would close down shop and perhaps resurface…
