I know that I’m knocking literally decades off of my life by deriving humor from this. It’s just so mean-spirited. I sense it, acknowledge it, and move on. I have grown to be at peace with my decision to find this funny, and I do so without hesitation or fear.

Remember back when I was remarking how “dumb people”:http://coldforged.org/archives/2003/04/01/evendumbpeoplegethere.html have a penchant for reaching this site through the mystical powers of the Google? How even the most blatant misspellings and palindromes of “Splinter Cell Demo Walkthrough” when searched for would still have teeming masses of stumped gamers flocking to this entry at a rate of, oh, once every 30 seconds?

I started noticing funny things in the access log. And it took a bit to figure out what was going on. Lookie:

What the hell? People are searching for the walkthrough and being directed by the Google gods to the humor archives? Uh-oh… of course. Google has crawled the entry that I mentioned above! The one where I make fun of the very type of dolt that is just now being brought to the page for the very same reason! Oh sweet, sweet irony! Now, what could be cuter than this? This.

Yeah, they still went to the walkthrough. Meaning, they read through the entries, found the one where a essentially call them walking dildos, then by Gawd and little tadpoles clicks on the walkthrough anyway. There must be great desire to navigate that treacherous stretch of demo, I tell you. I know that I personally wouldn’t put up with that kind of crap if it were me.

I do feel a modicum of guilt, I really do. I truly love you people that visit, I sincerely do. Even you slightly slower ones (Hi Ag! ;]) But I also giggle. Inside, at least.
